Basketball Game Preview: Campbell Hall Vikings vs. Crespi Celts

Campbell Hall is 0-5 against Crespi since March of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Campbell Hall Vikings will host the Crespi Celts at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Campbell Hall's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last seven games.

Campbell Hall is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They walked away with an 82-69 victory over Chaminade. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 34th, while the Eagles are ranked 97th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Crespi, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 90-54 win over Edison. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Celts had established a 32 point advantage.

Campbell Hall better keep an eye on Jayden Xu. He was instrumental in Crespi's win, going 6-for-8 from beyond the arc en route to 24 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Carter Barnes, who went 5-for-11 to rack up 12 points in addition to eight assists and six boards.

Campbell Hall's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-9. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.5 points over those games. As for Crespi, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-8 record this season.
