Preview: Seeger Patriots vs. Southmont Mounties
Seeger has been on the road for two straight, but on Thursday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Southmont Mounties at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Last Saturday, Seeger was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 52-51 to Frontier.
Seeger's defeat came about despite a quality game from Ayden Winchester, who scored 16 points along with four steals. Winchester is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Luke Pluimer was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Southmont's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their sixth straight defeat. They were the victim of a tough 65-45 defeat at the hands of Sheridan. Southmont was down 53-32 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Seeger's loss dropped their record down to 10-6. As for Southmont, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
Seeger skirted past Southmont 52-50 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Will Seeger repeat their success, or does Southmont have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
