Baseball Recap: Clear Creek Comes Up Short

Clear Creek extended their losing streak to five on Monday, dropping them down to 6-10. They came up short against the Buena Vista Demons, falling 14-7. The Golddiggers were not able to make up for their loss to the Demons from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.

Clear Creek saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Vinny Schoell, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two RBI and one run.

As for Buena Vista, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 18-4. The result was nothing new for the Demons, who have now won 13 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

On Buena Vista's side, Logan Scott made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Scott has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2025.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Reed Lundy, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Jake Fahrney, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Clear Creek has already played their next matchup, an 11-0 defeat against Dawson School on the 12th. Buena Vista does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
