Softball Game Preview: Natchez Bulldogs vs. Brookhaven Panthers

Natchez is 0-10 against Brookhaven since March of 2017 but things could change on Tuesday. The Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the Panthers at 6:30 p.m.

Natchez is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fifth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 10-3 to Raymond.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Brookhaven duked it out with Bogue Chitto on Friday. The Panthers blew past the Bobcats 16-6. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won ten matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Brookhaven let Journi Hunt and Mia Lee run wild. Hunt went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double, while Lee scored a run and stole a base while going 4-for-5. That's the most RBI Hunt has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Kennedi Dickey, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

They weren't the only one making solid contact: Brookhaven kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Brookhaven's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-10. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Natchez, their loss dropped their record down to 9-9.

Natchez suffered a grim 20-0 defeat to Brookhaven in their previous meeting back in March. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
