Basketball Recap: La Quinta Drops Highest Score of Season Against Indio

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask La Quinta). They came out on top against the Indio Rajahs by a score of 64-53 on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Blackhawks sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

La Quinta had a senior duo take command as Nathan Landin shot 44% from the field on his way to 20 points along with five boards and four steals and Roman Ansley went 7-for-13 to rack up 19 points and four steals. Landin has become a key player for the Blackhawks: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three steals, but 3-4 otherwise. David Contreras was another key player, putting up seven points and three steals.

The win got La Quinta back to even at 5-5. As for Indio, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-5.

La Quinta has already played their next game, a 48-27 victory against Twentynine Palms on the 11th. As for Indio, they will challenge Citrus Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Rajahs will be up against the Blackhawks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 50.4 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
