Basketball Recap: Syriah Hogan's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Lincoln County over Towns County

If Lincoln County was riding high fresh off their 74-40 takedown of Warren County on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Lincoln County Red Devils fell 69-58 to the Towns County Indians on Saturday. The Red Devils were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Indians earlier this season, when they won 62-39.

Lincoln County lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Syriah Hogan, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten boards. Hogan is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last 11 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Janiah Norman, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds.

Lincoln County's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Towns County, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-13 record this season.

Lincoln County didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 50-45 loss against Hephzibah on the 5th. As for Towns County, they will face off against Washington-Wilkes at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Towns County sitting on three straight wins and Washington-Wilkes on four.
