Baseball Recap: Plattsmouth Comes Up Short

Plattsmouth was the 7-4 winner over Auburn when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Blue Devils took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs on Thursday.

Henry Loontjer made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Eli Winters, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Plattsmouth's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Auburn, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-5.

Plattsmouth has already played their next game (against Standing Bear), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Auburn, they are taking a road trip to challenge Raymond Central at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Mustangs have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.5 runs per game on average), something the Bulldogs will no doubt try to take advantage of.
