Basketball Game Preview: Oakfield-Alabama Hornets vs. Keshequa Indians

The Oakfield-Alabama Hornets will head out to face off against the Keshequa Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Oakfield-Alabama is headed into the match having just posted their closest win since December 29, 2023 on Monday. They skirted past Notre Dame 51-48. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Hornets have posted against the Fighting Irish since January 13, 2016.

Meanwhile, Keshequa entered their tilt with Canisteo-Greenwood last Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Chargers by a score of 58-45. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while the Chargers are ranked 97th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Keshequa pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.6 points per game. As for Oakfield-Alabama, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Oakfield-Alabama won a game that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in February of 2019, slipping by Keshequa 49-48. Will Oakfield-Alabama repeat their success, or does Keshequa have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
