Softball Recap: Boyd County Lions vs. Wheelersburg Pirates

After flying high against Blazer on Tuesday, Boyd County came back down to earth. The Lions fell just short of the Wheelersburg Pirates by a score of 9-8 on Thursday. The defeat continues a trend for the Lions in their meetings with the Pirates: they've now lost three in a row.

Grace Stephens was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Reagan Robbins, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
