Softball Recap: Cuthbertson Cavaliers vs. Porter Ridge Pirates
It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Cuthbertson ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Porter Ridge Pirates 12-10. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Cavaliers, who until this contest were averaging 3.42 runs allowed.
Georgia McConnell spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and five unearned) runs on 12 hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.
