The Antioch Christian Academy Gators will take on the Sandhills Classical Christian Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Sandhills Classical Christian will be up against a hot Antioch Christian Academy team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. The Gators blew past Mintz Christian Academy 7-1 two weeks ago. The result was nothing new for the Gators, who have now won three contests by six runs or more so far this season.
Josiah Jones made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 16 over 6.2 innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one hit in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with seven stolen bases and one run. He is becoming a predictor of Antioch Christian Academy's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 0-3 when he doesn't).
