Baseball Recap: Fairfield Takes a Loss

After flying high against West Campus last Thursday, Fairfield came back down to earth. The Falcons took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rodriguez Mustangs on Friday. The Falcons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Fairfield saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Pat O'Reilly, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Fairfield's defeat dropped their record down to 16-6. As for Rodriguez, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-7.

Looking ahead, Fairfield will host Pinole Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Rodriguez, they are taking a road trip to face off against Wood at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
