Basketball Recap: Addison Maushart's Big Game Can't Quite Lead St. Joseph Academy over Florida School for the Deaf & Blind

St. Joseph Academy was the 29-27 winner over Florida School for the Deaf & Blind when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The St. Joseph Academy Flashes lost 44-20 to the Florida School for the Deaf & Blind Dragons on Friday. The Flashes were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-3.

St. Joseph Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Addison Maushart, who posted nine points. Another player making a difference was Chloe Arkin, who put up six points.

St. Joseph Academy dropped their record down to 2-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Florida School for the Deaf & Blind, the win keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

St. Joseph Academy will welcome Matanzas at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Florida School for the Deaf & Blind, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 62-38 victory against Atlantic on the 14th.
