The Heritage Huskies will take on the Orange Panthers in a tournament on Wednesday. Heritage is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.4 runs per game this season.

Heritage is headed into the contest having just suffered their closest loss since March 10th on Tuesday. They fell just short of Apex by a score of 3-1. The Huskies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

William Leahy was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Andrew Kilgore made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

Meanwhile, Orange posted their closest win since April 3, 2024 on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out Pine Forest 9-8.

Wren Hash and Henry Hoffman did most of the damage at the plate: Hash scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Hoffman scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Heritage now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Orange, their victory bumped their record up to 8-5.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Heritage has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Orange struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
