Recap: Benjamin Franklin Electrons vs. Roxborough Wolves

The Benjamin Franklin Electrons had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Thursday. They walked away with a 75-67 win over Roxborough. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Benjamin Franklin got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Kneco Hill out in front who scored 29 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Hill has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Soukare Fane, who scored 21 points along with five assists.

When it comes to explaining why Roxborough lost, one person who can't be blamed is Stefan Phillips. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 29 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Shane Bennett, who scored five points along with ten rebounds and three steals.

Benjamin Franklin pushed their record up to 12-2 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Roxborough, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-4.

Benjamin Franklin will take on Paul Robeson at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Paul Robeson will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 502nd, while Benjamin Franklin is ranked 205th). Roxborough won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Bodine at 3:15 p.m. on January 26th. Bodine is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
