Recap: Udall Eagles vs. West Elk Patriots

The Udall Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They took a hard 52-36 fall against West Elk. Udall was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as West Elk apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.

Despite the defeat, Udall had strong showings from Jenson Harness, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds, and Isaac Johnson, who scored ten points along with six rebounds and three blocks. That was a full 52.8% of Udall's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Udall struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as West Elk racked up 11 assists.

It was another big night for Uriah Tillapaugh, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks for West Elk. Tillapaugh is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last five games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Martin Shipley, who scored 13 points.

Udall has not been sharp recently as the team's lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. As for West Elk, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-5.

Udall will look to defend their home court on Friday against Central at 7:30 p.m. Udall is coming into the matchup with ten straight losses at home, meaning Central will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for West Elk, they will head out on the road to challenge Caldwell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully West Elk focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday.
