Softball Game Preview: Alchesay Falcons vs. Miami Vandals

The Alchesay Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Miami Vandals at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Alchesay has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Miami will arrive with four straight victories.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Alchesay's offense. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 20-0 to Show Low, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.

Meanwhile, Miami got the win against Leading Edge Academy - GEC on Saturday by a conclusive 19-2. Considering the Vandals have won seven contests by more than nine runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Miami's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-7. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.0 runs over those games. As for Alchesay, their loss dropped their record down to 6-14.

Alchesay suffered a grim 14-3 defeat to Miami when the teams last played back in March of 2016. Can the Falcons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
