Volleyball Recap: Desoto Central Extends Winning Streak to Four

DeSoto Central waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Tupelo Golden Wave 3-0. The Jaguars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Golden Wave, too.

The match was exciting from start to finish, as two sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 25-22, 26-24.

DeSoto Central can attribute much of their success to Marlee Mueller, who had 12 digs and two assists. Those two assists gave Mueller a new career-high.

DeSoto Central's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Tupelo, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-5.

DeSoto Central has already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Northpoint Christian on the 21st. As for Tupelo, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 defeat against Hernando on the 21st.
