Football Recap: John Giovannettone Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Rocklin + How To Watch

There's no place like home for Jesuit, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They managed a 20-14 win over the Rocklin Thunder on Friday. For the Marauders, this counts as revenge for the 52-14 victory the Thunder walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Jesuit's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from John Giovannettone, who rushed for 102 yards and one TD on only 12 carries. The Marauders also got a significant boost from Brody Quinn, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 84 yards.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Jesuit was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 223 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Jesuit's defense stepped up as well, laying out Reeve Slone. three times. The team can thank two different players for their defensive prowess: Duncan Broughton and Demare Moragne, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Jesuit's record now sits at 4-2. As for Rocklin, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jesuit will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Oak Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on October 10. As for Rocklin, they will welcome Whitney at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Thunder will be up against the Wildcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.2 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
