Baseball Game Preview: Hopkinton Hawks vs. Monadnock Huskies

Hopkinton is 1-9 against Monadnock since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Hawks will square off against the Huskies at 4:00 p.m.

On Wednesday, Hopkinton didn't have quite enough to beat Raymond and fell 7-6.

Meanwhile, Monadnock got the win against Fall Mountain on Wednesday by a conclusive 13-3. That's two games straight that the Huskies have won by exactly ten runs.

Monadnock pushed their record up to 2-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Hopkinton, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Hopkinton suffered a grim 12-3 defeat to Monadnock in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Can the Hawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
