Basketball Recap: Rensselaer Central's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Rensselaer Central couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They lost 55-33 to the South Knox Spartans on Saturday. The match marked the Bombers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Rensselaer Central lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Courtney Mathew, who posted eight points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamri Rowland, who scored ten points and seven boards.

Rensselaer Central moved to 26-3 with that defeat, which also ended their nine-game winning streak. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.2 points over those games. As for South Knox, the victory (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 28-2.
