Softball Recap: Sewickley Academy Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Sewickley Academy put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the Rochester Rams as they made off with a 17-2 victory. The result was nothing new for Sewickley Academy, who have now won three matches by 15 runs or more so far this season.

Charlotte Andrews (2028) made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Quincy Sirko (2025) was a standout: she scored three runs and stole seven bases while going 3-for-4. Sirko (2025) is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Sanaa Grant (2026) was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Sewickley Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive games.

Sewickley Academy's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-0. As for Rochester, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sewickley Academy will challenge Hopewell at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Rochester, they will face off against South Side at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
