Denver Christian was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Kent Denver on Tuesday. The Thunder's pitcher stepped up to hand the Sun Devils a 6-0 shutout. Considering the Thunder have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

James Lord made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Denver Christian is 6-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 4-5 otherwise. Lord was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other batting news, Elijah Whitfield was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Trey Speir, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Denver Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Denver Christian moved to 10-6 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Kent Denver, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-8 record this season.
