Baseball Game Preview: De La Salle Collegiate Pilots vs. University of Detroit Jesuit Cubs

The De La Salle Collegiate Pilots will challenge the University of Detroit Jesuit Cubs at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. De La Salle Collegiate will be strutting in after a win while University of Detroit Jesuit will be coming in after a loss.

De La Salle Collegiate will bounce into Saturday's match after beating Brother Rice, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. De La Salle Collegiate walked away with a 5-1 victory over Brother Rice on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pilots.

Joseph Cuppari was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Brady Lee, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, University of Detroit Jesuit fell victim to Divine Child and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Falcons.

University of Detroit Jesuit also got a good showing from Noah Habel, who tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

De La Salle Collegiate's record now sits at 2-0. As for University of Detroit Jesuit, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

De La Salle Collegiate couldn't quite get it done against University of Detroit Jesuit in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 7-3. Can De La Salle Collegiate avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
