Basketball Recap: Plano Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Plano couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They were dealt a 70-38 defeat at the hands of the Sterling Golden Warriors on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Reapers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while the Golden Warriors are ranked 32nd).

Chloe Rowe and Josie Larson certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Rowe dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 boards, while Larson posted 11 points. Rowe has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

Plano's loss dropped their record down to 27-5. As for Sterling, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Plano nor Sterling have any future games scheduled.
