Football Game Preview: Elba Tigers vs. Georgiana Panthers + Official Tickets

The Elba Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Georgiana Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Elba's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They took their matchup with ease, bagging a 29-0 win over Pleasant Home. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won six in a row.

Reggie Gilbert had an outrageously good game as he picked up 95 receiving yards and one touchdown, and also rushed for 61 yards and one TD. Those 95 receiving yards gave him a new career-high.

Gilbert was just one part of a punishing run game: Elba was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 216 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Pleasant Home only rushed for 83.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Georgiana). They breezed past Red Level to the tune of 52-24 on Friday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Elba's record is now 2-6. As for Georgiana, their record now sits at 3-5.

Everything came up roses for Elba against Georgiana in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 62-20 victory. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
