Volleyball Recap: Animo Robinson Monarchs vs. USC Hybrid Trojans
Animo Robinson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the USC Hybrid Trojans. The Monarchs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Trojans apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September.
Animo Robinson was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made USC Hybrid work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 25-10, 24-26, 25-13.
USC Hybrid found their leader in underclassman Sarah Tovar, who had ten kills and five aces. The dominant performance gave Tovar a new career-high in aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Nicole Zaragoza, who had six digs, two aces, and a kill.
Animo Robinson's loss dropped their record down to 8-12. As for USC Hybrid, they pushed their record up to 11-4 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.
Animo Robinson will host University Pathways Public Service Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for USC Hybrid, they are taking a road trip to take on Los Angeles Academy of Arts & Enterprise at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
