Sherman made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Centennial, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Sherman put the hurt on Centennial with a sharp 10-3 win on Saturday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Bearcats needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Elijah Newton was a standout: he scored three runs while going 1-for-4. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Erin Sulejman, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Sherman's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-16-1. As for Centennial, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.

Sherman will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Anna at 7:30 p.m. on the 8th. As for Centennial, they will head out on the road to square off against Frisco at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Frisco will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Centennial surely won't give up without a fight.
