            Baseball Preview: Converse Wildcats vs. North Webster Knights        
        
		
        
        
            Converse is 0-4 against North Webster since March of 2015 but things could change  on Monday. The Converse Wildcats will host the North Webster Knights  at 6:00  p.m. Converse is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.1  runs per game  this season.
Converse will roll into the  matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any  runs  on Thursday, then bounced right back against Southwood  on Friday. Converse put the hurt on Southwood with a sharp  17-1 win. The  victory continues a trend for the Wildcats in their matchups with the Cowboys: they've now won five in a row.

 Branton Snelling was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out seven batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. He has become a key player for Converse: the team is 2-1 when he allows at  most  one  hit, but 2-5 otherwise. Snelling was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run while  getting on base  in all three of his plate appearances.
 In other batting news, Converse got a big performance out of  Riley Norman, who  scored two  runs while going 1-for-2. What's more,  Norman posted three  RBI, the most he's  had since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was  Mavrick Mitchell, who  scored three  runs and  stole two bases while  getting on base  in two of his three plate appearances.
 Converse  hit smart and  finished the game with only two  strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southwood struck out seven times.
 Meanwhile, North Webster came up short against  Family Community Christian on Saturday, falling  13-2. The Knights haven't had much luck with Family Community Christian recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
 Converse picked up their first home  win, bumping their record up to 4-6. As for North Webster, they now  have a losing record of 3-4.
