Volleyball Recap: Villa Rica Comes Up Short

Villa Rica entered their contest against Kennesaw Mountain on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Wildcats fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 2-1. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to the Mustangs when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Villa Rica started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-22, 15-8.

Villa Rica's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 14-3. As for Kennesaw Mountain, they moved to 6-20 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Looking ahead, Villa Rica will head out on the road to face off against Central at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Kennesaw Mountain, they will face off against Fellowship Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
