It's playoff time, and Horizon had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the Canutillo Eagles 16-2 on Thursday. The Scorpions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six  runs or more this season.
 Franklin Miller made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he  struck out ten batters over  five innings while giving up just two earned runs off   five  hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in ten consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate,  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances with one  stolen base.
 In other batting news,  Jakob Mapula was  incredible,  getting on base  in three of his four plate appearances with four  RBI, two  runs,  and one  stolen base. Those  four  RBI gave  him a new career-high.  Damian Lopez was another key player,  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances with two  runs and one  RBI.
 Horizon  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .618. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Canutillo only posted  an  OBP of  .391.
Horizon's win was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 21-8. Those  home  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Canutillo,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 16-8-2.
Horizon will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled  at 12:00  p.m.  on Friday.
