Hale Center had lost eight games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 6-14 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 win over the New Deal Lions. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Owls have posted since March 10th.

Hale Center's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Mike Lopez, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.

As for New Deal, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-3. The match marked their lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

On New Deal's side, Lane Proctor spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up eight Ks. Proctor has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: New Deal beat Hale Center by a score of 4-0 later that day.
