Baseball Game Preview: Raymond Rangers vs. Port Gibson Blue Waves

The Raymond Rangers will take on the Port Gibson Blue Waves at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Raymond is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They lost 24-14 to McLaurin on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (12), the Rangers still had to take the loss.

Raymond saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brandon Hudson, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Hudson is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's stole at least two every time he's taken the field this season. Victor Jordan Jr. also deserves some recognition as he scored his first runs of the season.

Meanwhile, Port Gibson came up short against Raymond, falling 12-4. The Blue Waves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Nathan Jones made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole five bases. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in stolen bases. Terrance Evans was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Raymond's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Port Gibson, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Raymond took their win against Port Gibson in their previous meeting on Thursday by a conclusive 12-4. Will Raymond repeat their success, or does Port Gibson have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
