Football Recap: Saint Mary's Takes a Loss

Saint Mary extended their losing streak to five on Saturday, dropping them down to 1-6. They fell 27-14 to the De Anza Dons. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dons apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Although Saint Mary's took the loss, they still got scores from Aluzio Zarnowiecki and Wyatt Swanson.

As for De Anza, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.3 points over those games.

Paul Yumang went supernova, rushing for 104 yards and a pair of TDs. Those 104 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Saint Mary's is set to square off against their familiar foe Pinole Valley at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Meanwhile, De Anza will face off against rival Salesian College Preparatory at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
