Versailles is 6-1 against Ansonia since April of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. Versailles will welcome Ansonia at 5:00 p.m. Versailles is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
Versailles not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 26th (when they won 19-9). They blew past Anna 13-4. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Rockets recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

Jalyn McEldowney was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up four earned runs off nine hits. McEldowney was even better at the plate, going 2-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Versailles got a massive performance out of Miley Stover, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI Stover has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Ruthie Smith, who went 1-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Versailles kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 7-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Ansonia was able to grind out a solid victory over Bethel on Friday, taking the game 9-4.
Like Versailles, Ansonia also got a great game from a two-way player: Bre Walker. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Walker was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last four games she's played.
In other batting news, Ava Thatcher and Shyann McKenna did most of the damage at the plate: Thatcher went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI, while McKenna went 3-for-5 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. Lillian Perry was another key player, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three runs.
Versailles' win bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Ansonia, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.
Ansonia's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Versailles has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.7 hits per game. It's a different story for Ansonia, though, as they've been averaging 9.1 hits. Given Versailles' sizable advantage in that area, Ansonia will need to find a way to close that gap.
