Soccer Game Preview: Marshall vs. Stevens

The Marshall Rams will challenge the Stevens Falcons at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Marshall's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Marshall headed into their last matchup having not scored more than one goal for six straight, but Holmes let them put that streak behind them. Marshall had just enough and edged out Holmes 4-3 on Saturday. The victory continues a trend for the Rams in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, Stevens was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against O'Connor, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 610th, while the Panthers are ranked 238th).

Marshall's win bumped their record up to 9-10-2. As for Stevens, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-14.

Marshall took their victory against Stevens in their previous meeting back in February by a conclusive 3-0. Will Marshall repeat their success, or does Stevens have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
