Football Preview: Smith County Owls vs. Gordonsville Tigers

The Smith County Owls will venture away from home to face off against the Gordonsville Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Things were looking good for Smith County after they put the first points on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell 25-21 to Tellico Plains. While the Owls didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bears 7-0 in the first quarter.

Peyton Binkley put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 77 yards and one touchdown.

Smith County didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Landon Blevins and Gage Gibbs.

Meanwhile, Gordonsville put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their game with ease, bagging a 42-0 victory over Red Boiling Springs. That looming 42-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Tigers yet this season.
