Volleyball Recap: Heritage Academy Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Heritage Academy can now relate to. They fell just short of the BASIS Phoenix Firebirds by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. The Heroes were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Firebirds earlier this season, when they won 3-0.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Heritage Academy sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The match finished with set scores of 28-26, 24-26, 26-24, 22-25, 15-11.

Leading BASIS Phoenix to victory were Aarushi Javia and Lili Fang. Javia had 18 digs and two aces, while Fang had 20 digs, 17 kills, and two aces. Fang has been hot for a while, having posted six or more kills the last 12 times she's played. Josie Ventura also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.

Heritage Academy's loss ended a four-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-6. As for BASIS Phoenix, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-4.

Heritage Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for BASIS Phoenix, they will take on the Heroes at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
