Baseball Recap: Hopkinton Hillers vs. Westwood Wolverines

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Hopkinton ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Westwood Wolverines 5-4. The Hillers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Wolverines, too.

Dylan Ruff was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Ruff was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Mitch Simulis was excellent, scoring a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Zach Stacey also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
