Basketball Game Preview: Cherokee Indians vs. Rochelle Hornets

After both having extra time off, the Cherokee Indians and the Rochelle Hornets will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 7:15 p.m. on February 6th. Cherokee is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.

While Cherokee couldn't quite beat the Mustangs last Tuesday, the two-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 33-point loss they were dealt back in January. Cherokee fell just short of the Mustangs by a score of 47-45.

Meanwhile, Rochelle's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Friday after their fourth straight defeat. They took a 46-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Brookesmith.

Cherokee now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Rochelle, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.

Everything went Cherokee's way against the Hornets in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the Indians made off with a 56-32 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cherokee since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
