Basketball Recap: St. John's Win Ends Seven-Game Losing Streak at Home

St. John lost to Cavalier back in January of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The St. John Woodchucks blew past the Cavalier Tornadoes 63-41. The matchup marked the Woodchucks' most dominant win of the season so far.

St. John's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ashton Parisien led the charge by going 6 of 11 on his way to 16 points and eight assists. Parisien has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Simon LaRocque was another key player, going 5 for 10 en route to 12 points in addition to eight rebounds and three blocks.

Parisien wasn't the only one working in the assists department: St. John was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

St. John's victory ended a seven-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-7. As for Cavalier, they dropped their record down to 0-9 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

St. John will face off against Dunseith at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Cavalier, they will take on Langdon at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
