Softball Recap: Leeds Drops Season-High Score on Carver Birmingham

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Leeds). They never let the Carver Birmingham Rams get on the board and left with a 16-0 win on Friday. The Greenwave haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Selah Larson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in RBI. Gianna Davis was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-1.

Leeds was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in four consecutive contests.

Leeds' win bumped their record up to 5-8. As for Carver Birmingham, they are on a six-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, Leeds will head out to take on John Carroll Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Carver Birmingham, they will welcome Bessemer City at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
