Recap: Bell Bulldogs vs. Saint Francis Catholic Wolves
The Bell Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell 52-45 to Saint Francis Catholic. If Bell hoped to take revenge for the 30-18 loss against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Bell's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maddie Smith, who scored 17 points along with seven steals. Lizzie Bagby was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven steals.
Bell has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Saint Francis Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bell will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Cedar Key at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Saint Francis Catholic, they will be playing at home against Countryside Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Countryside Christian is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
