Basketball Game Preview: Millard North Mustangs vs. Omaha Central Eagles

Millard North and Omaha Central are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2017, but not for long. The two teams will compete for holiday cheer at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Millard North's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Millard North took a loss when they played away from home last Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Tuesday. They came out on top against Elkhorn South by a score of 77-70.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Millard North to victory, but perhaps none more so than Coriahnn Gallatin, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Major Mosser, who went 7 for 12 on his way to 21 points.

Millard North smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January.

Meanwhile, Omaha Central posted their closest win since January 19th on Tuesday. It was close, but they ultimately received the gift of a 58-55 victory from a begrudging Eagles squad.

Millard North pushed their record up to 2-1 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.9 points per game. As for Omaha Central, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Millard North beat Omaha Central 58-46 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Millard North since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
