Baseball Preview: Foothill Mustangs vs. Armijo Royals
The Foothill Mustangs will head out to challenge the Armijo Royals at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Having struggled with ten defeats in a row, Foothill turned things around against Florin on Thursday. They walked away with an 11-6 victory over the Panthers.
Aiden Carvalho made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Julian Tripp was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ryan Sylvester, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Foothill was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Florin only posted a batting average of .231.
Meanwhile, while Armijo put up plenty of runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for West Campus. The Royals blew past the Warriors 16-0. Considering the Royals have won ten games by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Armijo has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Foothill, their victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-11 and their overall record up to 4-19.
