League recap: Charter Oak wins, gets boost in standings

Charter Oak was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to second in Sierra. The Chargers beat Los Osos 52-7 earlier in the week.

South Hills moved up to 130 from 162 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Huskies climbed the ranks as a result of a 28-17 win over Glendora.

Bryce Bobo was the best wideout in the league this week as Charter Oak bested the Grizzlies. Bobo racked up seven receptions for 136 yards. Ryan Tolliver helped Charter Oak's passing attack out by catching five balls for 47 yards.

BRIAN MEYETTE put up the best numbers through the air as Ayala fell to Kaiser. He finished with 16 completions for 181 yards and one touchdown. MEYETTE's favorite target this week was BLAKE WALLACE, who caught four passes for 58 yards.

Aaren Vaughns was the most productive running back in Sierra this week. In 15 carries, he ran for 163 yards as Lou Farrar's team defeated Los Osos. Teammate Ross Barrera added to the ground attack by rushing for 57 yards.

Chino Hills's Matthew Simko and Joseph Lara have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Simko has thrown for 1454 yards this season, while Lara, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 31 catches for 542 yards. The Chargers' Vaughns leads the league in rushing yards with 664.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Charter Oak takes on the Huskies. At the moment, the Chargers are in second, while Chino Hills is in fourth.

Charter Oak took down Tom Martinez's team 52-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Vaughns caught two passes for 24 yards in the win.
