Volleyball Recap: Moffat County Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Moffat County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Basalt Longhorns. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Longhorns apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 22-25, 25-14, 25-17.

Keona Bolton paced Moffat County's offense, picking up five kills. Bolton got some help from Adrian Profumo and her 16 assists. Bella Vanzo controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Sidney Barill was a one-woman wrecking crew For Basalt. as she had 34 digs and three aces. Those 34 digs gave Barill a new career-high. Jo Becker also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Moffat County's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Basalt, they moved to 4-5 with that victory, which also ended their three-match losing streak.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Moffat County will challenge rival Roaring Fork at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Basalt is set to square off against their familiar foe Coal Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
