Basketball Game Preview: West Potomac Wolverines vs. South County Stallions

The West Potomac Wolverines will challenge the South County Stallions at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, West Potomac beat Robinson 49-45.

Meanwhile, South County got the win against West Springfield on Tuesday by a conclusive 70-46. Given the Stallions' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 66th, while the Spartans are ranked 209th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

West Potomac pushed their record up to 13-10 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points over those games. As for South County, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season.

West Potomac was able to grind out a solid win over South County in their previous meeting back in January, winning 58-47. Does West Potomac have another victory up their sleeve, or will South County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
