Football Game Preview: Stevens Cardinals vs. Gilford Golden Eagles

The Stevens Cardinals will challenge the Gilford Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Stevens is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

On Friday, Stevens lost to Laconia on the road by a 21-6 margin.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Gilford). They were the clear victors by a 47-26 margin over Somersworth on Saturday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Golden Eagles considering their seven-point performance the matchup before.

Gilford is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 26.0 points over those games. As for Stevens, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Stevens strolled past Gilford in their previous meeting back in October of 2015 by a score of 39-20. Will the Cardinals repeat their success, or do the Golden Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
