Volleyball Recap: Lehi Falls Despite Big Games from Aftyn Hurst and Paige Wakumoto

Lehi was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 3-1 to the Brighton Bengals. The Pioneers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bengals apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2022.

Despite the defeat, Lehi had strong showings from Paige Wakumoto, who had 15 digs and two assists, and Aftyn Hurst, who had 12 digs and two aces. Wakumoto is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last ten games she's played.

Lehi's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for Brighton, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Lehi has already played their next match, a 3-1 win against Bountiful on the 6th. As for Brighton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Provo on the 5th.
